Egypt and Türkiye have concluded the joint air exercise “Anatolian Eagle 2026” at a Turkish air base following several days of intensive training involving the air forces of Egypt, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan, alongside a NATO airborne early warning aircraft.
The Egyptian Armed Forces said in a statement that the closing activities were attended by Egyptian Air Force Commander Amr Saqr, Head of the Armed Forces Training Authority Sherif El-Arayeshi, and senior military officials from the participating countries.
The exercise featured a series of joint sorties by multi-role fighter aircraft, focusing on simulated strikes against hostile targets, the defence of critical infrastructure, the interception of unmanned aerial vehicles, aerial refuelling operations, and close air support missions for ground forces.
According to the statement, the drills highlighted the professionalism and operational capabilities of the participating aircrews while providing valuable opportunities to strengthen interoperability, enhance coordination, and exchange operational expertise among the participating forces.
The Egyptian military said “Anatolian Eagle 2026” forms part of the Armed Forces’ programme of joint exercises with friendly and partner nations, aimed at strengthening military cooperation, enhancing combat readiness, and developing the operational capabilities of the Egyptian and Turkish air forces.
