Salah Gomblat, Minister of State for Military Production, held a meeting with the chairpersons of the Ministry’s affiliated companies operating in ammunition production to review the implementation of supply contracts, developments in production and plans to upgrade manufacturing capabilities during the coming period.
The Minister opened the meeting by reviewing progress on ammunition supply contracts and the companies’ production plans. He also reviewed ongoing measures to improve operational efficiency and maximise the use of available manufacturing and technological capabilities. These efforts aim to meet required needs in line with specified timelines and technical specifications.
Gomblat stressed that developing the ammunition production system is a key priority at the current stage, underscoring the need to continue modernising production lines and making optimal use of specialised human resources while adhering to the highest standards of quality, precision and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.
He noted that the Ministry of Military Production attaches great importance to deepening local manufacturing and localising modern technologies, which would help reduce reliance on imports. He also stressed the importance of integration among the Ministry’s affiliated companies and leveraging available capabilities to support product development and enhance production efficiency.
He added that developing ammunition production is a strategic pillar for supporting local manufacturing and strengthening self-sufficiency, thereby reinforcing the state’s ability to meet its defence requirements.
The Minister of State for Military Production directed the companies to continue implementing their development plans and improve production rates and efficiency. He also called for enhancing the capabilities of the workforce through continuous training and qualification, while making use of the latest technological developments and artificial intelligence technologies.
He said these efforts would strengthen the competitiveness of military production companies, support the development of an advanced national industrial base capable of meeting domestic market needs and pave the way for exports.
In addition, Gomblat stressed the need for continued periodic monitoring of implementation rates and for immediately addressing any challenges that could affect the production process.
