Ghabbour Auto (GB Auto) presented the Hyundai Elantra AD at the Automech Formula 2016, as well as the locally-assembled Elantra HD in the Egyptian market for the first time, Hyundai Franchise Director and Executive Vice President at GB Auto Al-Mustafa Abdul Halim said.

Manufacturing the Elantra HD locally reflects Hyundai’s trust in GB Auto, Hyundai’s agent in Egypt, added Halim. Auto companies are competing to develop Hyundai cars; each company has different abilities when it comes to the after-sale services, he said.

GB Auto has acquired 25% of the car market with Hyundai, Halim noted. He explained that his company aims to pump EGP 75m into after-sale services this year and to provide those services through 1,100 maintenance and service stations across the country, as well as more than 40 authorised distributors in 118 showrooms.

Halim said Hyundai global company spends about $3bn a year on research and development for the automotive industry.
