Representatives of several Polish companies have expressed interest in making new investments in the Egyptian market and capitalising on the country’s attractive investment climate and ongoing agricultural development projects.
The interest was highlighted during a meeting between Alaa Farouk, Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and a high-level Polish delegation headed by Poland’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Secretary of State. The meeting was also attended by Poland’s Ambassador to Cairo, along with parliamentary and government officials and representatives of leading Polish agricultural companies.
The meeting was held within the framework of strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Egypt and Poland and advancing cooperation in the agricultural and livestock sectors.
Discussions focused on enhancing agricultural and economic ties between the two countries and exploring promising investment opportunities arising from the major national projects currently underway in Egypt’s agricultural sector. Participants also reviewed the performance of Egyptian agricultural exports in international markets.
The meeting further addressed a number of key technical issues, including phytosanitary requirements aimed at facilitating trade in agricultural and animal products between the two countries, as well as research, scientific and technical cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
Following the meeting, an expanded technical session was chaired by Mostafa El Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, with the participation of the Polish delegation, business leaders, investors and company representatives from both sides.
The session focused on discussing the implementation framework for practical investment partnerships. Participants also reviewed the progress of ongoing cooperation initiatives and explored opportunities for direct investment, as well as potential partnerships between Egyptian and Polish companies in food processing, food technology and veterinary services.
