Wilfredo Gonzalez, First Deputy Head of Cuba’s Ministry of Communications (Mincom), has arrived in India on a mission to boost bilateral cooperation in the technology sector. This multi-pronged visit aims to lay the groundwork for an extensive programme of collaboration.

Topping the agenda is a meeting with India’s Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The discussions will be furthered by a gathering at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), bringing together Cuban and Indian officials for focused dialogues. Gonzalez’s busy schedule also includes meetings with heads of leading Indian tech companies, fostering direct connections and potential partnerships. Gonzalez will be the chief guest at a reception marking the 64th anniversary of Cuba-India diplomatic relations, held on January 16th.
The trip’s climax comes with Gonzalez’s participation in the three-day “India Soft” event, starting next Wednesday in New Delhi. This annual gathering of over 1,000 IT companies provides a dynamic platform for showcasing India’s software prowess and forging business partnerships. Gonzalez’s presence underlines Cuba’s keen interest in exploring the latest innovations and forging mutually beneficial connections.
Gonzalez’s visit marks a significant step forward in Cuba and India’s tech collaboration, paving the way for joint ventures, knowledge sharing, and potential joint ventures in this rapidly evolving sector.
