237k tonnes of fodder supplies worth $107m released from ports within 7 days: Agriculture Minister

Elsayed Elkosayer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, has affirmed that the release of fodder requirements from Egyptian ports continue in coordination with the Central Bank.

He explained that the period from 28 April to 3 May, 2023 witnessed the release of 237,000 tonnes of corn and soybeans at a value of $107m, an increase of 22,000 tonnes over the previous week.

He added that the released shipments included 189,000 tonnes of corn at a value of $68m and 48,000 tonnes of soybeans at a value of $36m, as well as feed additives worth $3.4m.

The total that was released during the period from 16 October 2022 to 3 May 2023 amounted to about 4.5 million tonnes, including 3.3 million tonnes of corn, 1.2 million tonnes of soybeans and feed additives, at a value of $2.2bn.
