A meeting will soon be held with the authorities concerned with the file to discuss mechanisms for disbursing all dues

Minister of Manpower Hassan Shehata met with Director of Rafidain Bank in Cairo Wameed Alaa Rasool, along with other officials from the bank to discuss providing pensions for Egyptian beneficiaries who previously worked in the government and private sectors of Iraq.

Shehata stressed the importance of facilitating the procedures for documenting the retirement certificates of beneficiaries until the payment of their dues is completed, noting that the ministry — in coordination with its Labour Representation Office at the Egyptian Embassy in Iraq — has made the matter a top priority.

Furthermore, he indicated that he met a few days ago with a number of representatives of pensioners immediately after assuming the duties of the ministry and discussed some of the obstacles they face in disbursing their dues, and that he directed the competent department of the ministry to communicate with the Office of Labour Representation in Iraq to end all obstacles to documenting certificates for 2022 to facilitate procedures for pension recipients or their heirs.

For his part, the director of Rafidain Bank in Cairo indicated that the bank provides all facilities for the payment of dues in cooperation with the competent authorities in Iraq, explaining that a meeting will soon be held with the authorities concerned with the file in Iraq to discuss mechanisms for disbursing all dues.

Rafidain Bank is Iraq’s largest lender, with 165 local branches and with branches in Cairo, Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Sana’a, and Amman.
