Daily News Egypt test-drove the Aprilia SR 150 scooter to find out the Italian vehicle’s qualities and specifications which were recently debuted in Egypt.

The Aprilia SR 150’s front design is sharp, taking the shape of a bird’s beak. It somewhat resembles adventure-type motorcycles, giving the scooter a shape distinctive from its competitors. The top part of the front is sleek, extending to the rear, which also ends in a semi-pointed form.

The scooter features a semi-digital instrument cluster, which includes two-trip meter A and B, fuel gauge, and digital speedometer with a maximum speed of 140 km/h.

The SR 150 seat is comfortable, especially when the driver rides the scooter alone.

There is ample storage space under the seat for the helmet, in addition to a USB port for charging mobile phones.

The SR 150 has a powerful 154.8 cc engine producing 10.06 bhp at 6,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.90 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine allows driving at good speed with remarkable cohesion but can be a little noisy.

The scooter has a fuel tank with a capacity of 6.5 litres, in addition to 1.5 litres as a reserve, which makes it the largest in its class. The bike consumes one litre of gasoline per 20-30 km.

As for the safety factors, SR 150 comes with disc brakes on the front wheel and drums on the rear wheel, and they work perfectly to stop the scooter in the shortest possible time and the lowest distance to zero.

The scooter comes with 14-inch rims and 70/120 tires, and these tires are relatively large, which makes the scooter adapted to unpaved roads. It also has an adjustable rear suspension system. The height of the shock absorber can be adjusted in several degrees, depending on the use and weight of each driver.

SR 150 is available in the Egyptian market in three colours: red, black, and white, with a one-year or 12,000 km guarantee at EGP 27,000.
