Second edition of GeoMEast 2018 to kick off in November under patronage of Egypt’s prime minister

The GeoMEast 2018 International Congress and Exhibition will be held in Cairo, Egypt from 24 to 28 November under the patronage of Egyptian Prime Minister and acting Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly.

The GeoMEast series is managed by Soil-Structure Interaction Group in Egypt (SSIGE) and the Housing and Building National Research Centre (HBRC), and supported by a number of leading international professional organisations.

The first edition of GeoMEast2017 was inaugurated in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt with the presence of more than 600 local and international experts from 48 countries around the world specialised in construction and infrastructure.

The CEO of SSIGE and secretary general of the conference, Hany Farouk Shehata, said, “GeoMEast 2018 is the first international forum to be held in Egypt and the Arab world to bring together Arab and foreign specialists from many countries to contribute to the development of Arab countries’ strategies in achieving sustainable development, in addition to maximising the output of national projects implemented by the Arab countries, especially the Egyptian state, including the Suez Canal axis area, the New Administrative Capital, New El Alamein, national roads, and many other national projects.

GeoMEast 2018 will provide a showcase for recent developments and advancements in design, construction, and safety inspections of transportation infrastructures, as well as offer a forum to discuss and debate future directions for the 21st century. Conference topics cover a broad array of contemporary issues for professionals involved in bridge, pavement, geomechanics, geo-environmental, geotechnical, geosciences, geophysics, tunnel, water structures, railway, and emerging techniques for safety inspections. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world for technical, scientific, and commercial discussions.
