Dalia Mostafa appointed vice-chairperson, managing director of National Investment Bank

The board of directors of the National Investment Bank (NIB), chaired by Ahmed Rostom, has appointed Dalia Mostafa as vice-chairperson and managing director of the bank, as part of efforts to strengthen its leadership with experienced banking professionals with a long track record in managing strategic and financial portfolios.

Mostafa is one of NIB’s senior executives, with nearly 40 years of banking and financial experience at the institution. She has held several senior positions during her career, including assistant managing director for investment and resources from 2020, before serving as adviser to the bank’s chairperson for investment, resources, financial affairs, and final accounts.

Mostafa holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Cairo University, graduating in 1987 with a very good grade with honours. She was also named among the 50 Most Influential Women in 2021.

Throughout her career, Mostafa has contributed to several key projects and portfolios at the bank, including investments and equity stakes, where she supervised the management of NIB’s equity investment portfolio, subscriptions to capital increases at companies and banks, and the implementation of investment exit policies in accordance with approved regulations.

She also participated in investing the bank’s surplus liquidity in suitable savings and investment instruments and supervised the implementation of its securities portfolio strategy, which is managed through specialised companies.

In restructuring and development, Mostafa participated in preparing the bank’s restructuring plan in cooperation with major international consultancy firms. She also supervised the financial affairs and final accounts division, including the review of financial statements and the bank’s annual budget.

Mostafa also oversaw efforts to secure the resources required to finance the bank’s activities and maximise revenues, helping ensure that NIB could efficiently meet and settle its obligations.

In addition, she participated in developing an integrated framework to settle NIB’s debt to the National Bank of Egypt relating to investment certificates and helped reach an agreement with Egypt Post to settle outstanding debts.

Mostafa has also served on the boards of several major banks and companies, including the Export Development Bank of Egypt, Bank NXT, e-finance, Egyptian Fajr for Natural Gas, Misr Fertilizers Production Company (MOPCO), and Smart Aviation.
