Saudi German Hospital – Alexandria and Conceive Center for IVF and Infertility Treatment will sign a cooperation protocol on 30 July as part of efforts to strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional hub for medical tourism, particularly in fertility treatment and assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
The partnership comes amid growing efforts to attract patients from Arab and African markets by leveraging Egypt’s competitive advantages in healthcare, including advanced medical expertise, high in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) success rates, and treatment costs that remain significantly lower than those in many regional and international destinations.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate to provide integrated fertility and reproductive healthcare services, develop specialised treatment programmes for international patients, and enhance patient support throughout every stage of their medical journey.
The initiative is expected to help expand inbound medical tourism, a sector increasingly viewed as a strategic growth driver for Egypt’s healthcare industry and an important source of foreign currency revenues.
The signing ceremony, hosted by Alexandria Governorate, will be attended by senior healthcare officials, including the Head of the Alexandria Medical Syndicate and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Alexandria, alongside executives from both institutions.
Representatives of several diplomatic missions—including the Saudi, Libyan and Lebanese consulates, as well as officials from the Turkish, Chinese and French consulates—have also been invited, in addition to business leaders and representatives of the healthcare sector.
Officials from the Health Committee of the Alexandria Businessmen’s Association and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce are also expected to attend, highlighting the growing role of public-private partnerships in positioning Egypt as a competitive destination for specialised healthcare services.
The collaboration supports the Egyptian government’s broader strategy to develop healthcare as a high-value economic sector while strengthening the country’s competitiveness in medical tourism through continued investment in advanced healthcare infrastructure, specialised medical expertise and internationally competitive treatment services.
