Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi paid a fraternal visit to Bahrain on Tuesday, reaffirming Egypt’s full support for the kingdom amid ongoing regional tensions, according to the Egyptian presidency.

Al-Sisi travelled to Manama after concluding an earlier visit to Qatar and was received by Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa upon arrival.

During their meeting, Al-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering commitment to Bahrain’s security and stability, condemning what he described as the “unjustified attacks” targeting Bahraini territory as a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional peace and security.

The Egyptian president reiterated Cairo’s rejection of any attempts to undermine the security and stability of Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, or any other Arab country, stressing that Egypt stands firmly alongside its Arab partners in safeguarding their sovereignty and protecting their peoples.

Al-Sisi also praised Bahrain’s leadership for its efforts to preserve regional stability and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions and advancing peaceful solutions to regional crises.

King Hamad welcomed Al-Sisi’s visit and expressed appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast support for Bahrain, highlighting the deep-rooted and longstanding ties between the two countries.

The Bahraini monarch also commended Egypt’s support for the security of GCC and Arab states. Both leaders underscored the importance of continued consultation and coordination to help ease regional tensions, strengthen collective Arab cooperation, and promote security and stability across the region.

According to the Egyptian presidency, King Hamad bid farewell to Al-Sisi at the airport at the conclusion of the visit.
