Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, affirmed the Ministry’s continued commitment to strengthening the capabilities of Egyptian students at leading international universities. He highlighted ongoing efforts to expand local and international training programmes and increase access to advanced initiatives across a wide range of disciplines.
Kouchouk noted that the coming phase will witness a significant expansion of these partnerships and training programmes, ensuring deeper impact, a greater number of participating Egyptian students, and broader opportunities for excellence and innovation. These efforts, he explained, support Egypt’s development agenda and contribute to building a new generation of highly qualified national talent.
The Minister stressed the Ministry’s keenness to deepen its partnership with Harvard University as part of a strategic approach to investing in young leadership and enhancing their global competitiveness. This partnership focuses on developing human capital and preparing highly skilled cadres capable of contributing effectively to development pathways and strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy.
He added that the Ministry seeks to expand access to distinguished master’s and postgraduate research opportunities aligned with Egypt’s development priorities, particularly in fields such as artificial intelligence, climate change, and quantum sciences.
Kouchouk further explained that the scholarship programmes are designed to ensure the integration of graduates into public service, enabling state institutions to benefit from globally trained expertise. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to providing full support to students throughout their academic journey, including monitoring challenges they may face and working to resolve them.
He noted that the Fellowship Fund, established in cooperation with Harvard University, finances approximately 10 scholarships annually for Egyptian students pursuing postgraduate research degrees. Since 2009, the Ministry of Finance has fully supported 59 students who successfully met Harvard’s admission requirements and enrolled in master’s programmes in public administration, public health, education, and design.
Kouchouk also highlighted Harvard University’s introduction of new programmes and platforms for free digital learning, which further expand access to advanced technological education.
The Ministry of Finance’s International Financial and Economic Relations Department regularly follows up with enrolled students throughout their years of study and works closely with them to address any obstacles that may affect their academic progress. The specialised master’s programmes offered are closely aligned with Egypt’s development plans and national priorities.
