Singaporean ambassador, Minister of Investment discuss investing in Egypt

The ambassador of Singapore Egypt, Premjith Sadasivan, invited Minister of International Cooperation and Investment Sahar Nasr to visit Singapore and get to know Singapore’s experience and plans that helped it attracts investments.

A report issued by the ministry on Sunday stated that the minister will hold talks with the biggest businesspeople in the country to show them the opportunities of investments in Egypt.

From her point of view, Nasr said that Egypt welcomes Singaporean investments in any field, especially in the economic zone of the Suez Canal area.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of transportation and ports, training cadres in different fields, and the benefits of Singaporean technology in sea carriage and shipping.

The ambassador stated that his country looks forward to investing in the economic area of the Suez Canal, especially in sea carriage, shipping, and the desalination of seawater. They discussed the opportunities of investing in agricultural and logistics projects as well, the statement read.

Nasr said that Egypt has a lot of opportunities in many different fields, explaining that the most important priority for the ministry is to get the investment law approved—currently being studied by the parliament—which will also create a better environment for investors.
