Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital on Monday to review the final arrangements for an upcoming visit to Egypt by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh, Presidential Advisor for Economic Affairs Hala El-Said, and Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Ahmed El-Shazly. Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk participated via video conference alongside other relevant officials.
“We have previously held a number of meetings to prepare for the Chinese president’s visit to Egypt, and today we are finalising the arrangements for this important visit,” Madbouly stated at the beginning of the meeting.

During the meeting, officials reviewed existing joint projects and stressed the importance of building on tangible progress achieved in bilateral relations. Attendees highlighted the need to enhance investment opportunities, noting confidence within the Chinese business community in the Egyptian investment climate and calling for deeper cooperation in priority sectors.
The upcoming visit comes as Cairo and Beijing mark seven decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Over the past 70 years, bilateral ties have been maintained on principles of national independence, respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and the right of nations to choose their own political and developmental paths.
China’s developmental model presents an approach for developing countries across Africa and the Arab world, demonstrating that progress can emerge from a society’s specific culture, resources, and national priorities rather than an imported template. Geographically positioned at the intersection of the Middle East, Africa, and the Arab world, Egypt serves as a strategic meeting point connecting China with the broader African continent and Arab region.
