Egyptian football fans are eagerly waiting for the Cairo Derby between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, at 8 pm on Friday.

The match is scheduled to witness a crowd of 1,000 fans for each club, according to the protocol approved by the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association chaired by Ahmed Diab.

The last match that was in the presence of fans between the two teams dates back to 20 September 2019.

Diab confirmed that there are penalties that will await those who violate sports behaviour and ethics, during the 123rd derby between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, whether from the fans, players or officials of the two teams.

He told Daily News Egypt that there is a great responsibility on the members of the football system to renounce intolerance.

He added that there will be deterrent penalties pending any transgression or deviation from sportsmanship.

And regarding the punishment of Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala”, the captain of Zamalek, Diab said: “Any disciplinary action by the Egyptian Football Association last season are binding, such as stopping Ali Maher or Shikabala, we are not a party in that matter.”
