Egypt’s National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has granted BT Group – Egypt a licence to provide connectivity services and information transfer to institutions and companies through its international networks.

With this licence, the company can provide connectivity services and data transfer between companies and institutions operating in Egypt and their branches abroad.

This includes banks, international companies, and Egyptian companies that have branches abroad. The highest international standards are expected to be applied in the process.

The licence also provides the options for contracting and accounting directly with BT, without having to complete the contract and make the payment abroad. This gives clients flexibility and facilitates procedures for them inside Egypt. It also attracts foreign investments to the Egyptian market.

NTRA CEO Hossam El-Gamal said that BT’s attempt to obtain the licence proves that the Egyptian telecom market is attractive to foreign investments. It also shows that the market is continuously growing and developing, which reflects the foreign investors’ view of the measures taken by the state to create an attractive investment environment.

The licence was signed by El-Gamal, along with Khaled Mohamed Abo Salama, Director of BT Egypt.
