Environment Minister attracts tourists to visit Saint Catherine mountains

Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad called on tourists and citizens to go and enjoy the South Sinai’s Saint Catherine mountains which are covered with snow this time of year.

Fouad said the ministry is upgrading the area’s infrastructure to maintain its natural beauty, and economically capitalise on the mountains’ entertainment, the ministry’s Monday statement.

The ministry said in a separate statement that 2,500 trees were planted in Damietta, as part of a state campaign to plant trees across the country.

About 1,000 trees were planted in Damietta University, 500 trees at Al-Azhar University in Damietta, 500 trees in Kafr El-Ghab village, and 500 trees in Belbeis.

The ministry targets to raise the awareness of the importance of trees and green spaces in protecting the environment.
