EgyptAir has announced that it will launch a new year-round direct service from Dublin to Cairo and vice versa this summer.

The new route is scheduled to start 5 June, and will operate four time per week, becoming Ireland’s first scheduled air service to Egypt.

“We’re very pleased to welcome EgyptAir to Ireland and to add Cairo to Dublin Airport’s extensive route network,” said Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison.

He added that Cairo is considered one of the world’s greatest cities, saying that Dublin Airport will be working closely with EgyptAir to promote this new route, which will be welcomed by both business and leisure travelers.

In response, EgyptAir Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Adel said he was “delighted” that EgyptAir would have four weekly flights linking both capital cities later this year.

For his part, Egyptian Ambassador in Dublin, Khaled Sarwat stated that the new line will further enhance and deepen the bilateral relations between Egypt and Ireland and boost their mutual investment, trade, and tourism.
