Russian Rosatom Corporation will be holding a forum for the suppliers and contractors of the Dabaa nuclear plant on October 8.

The forum is expected to include leaders from the Egyptian nuclear power plants authority, the ministry of electricity, the engineering section of Rosatom foundation, the first designer and general contractor of the country’s first nuclear power plant, and a number of foreign companies – nearly 600 suppliers working in nuclear energy.

Rosatom said, in a press release, that participants in the event would be able to obtain information on current and future tenders for the Dabaa nuclear plant in Egypt, as well as identify the procurement system of the Rosatom governmental institution.

This is in addition to holding individual working meetings with representatives of Russian nuclear institutions involved in the project, and receiving answers to questions about participating in building the plant.

Anton Abashkin, vice-president of the Russian government firm Formica, said that the Dabaa plant is one of the large high-tech projects implemented in Egypt.

“The Rosatom foundation is holding a forum for suppliers and contractors for the construction of Al Dabaa for the second year, given the role such events play in communicating with local and international companies at the same time” said Gregory Sosnin, vice president of Atomstroyexport, which is responsible for the construction of the Dabaa nuclear plant.

He explained that participation in this event provides potential suppliers with a great opportunity to better understand the Rosatom procurement system. It will also help identify current and future procurement procedures better as part of the Dabaa nuclear plant project implementation.
