Balayem Petroleum (Petrobel) is implementing a $300m project to build the $250m Nooros-Abu Madi-El-Gamil gas pipeline, which aims to transport 700m cubic feet of gas per day.

The company will build two lines, the first from Nooros to Abu Madi gas treatment plant, while the second line will extend from Abu Madi to El-Gamil plant to continue gas treatment and be pumped to the national grid.

The project is planned to be completed by the end of 2018. ENPI is carrying out detailed project design work and Petrojet is conducting packaging for lines and construction.

In a related context, Petrobel plans to produce 500m cubic feet of gas per day by the middle of next year through the development project of Baltim in the southwest Nile Delta.

Atef Hassan, president of Petrobel, said that the project of development of the Southwest Explosion of Baltim was planned to link to production in June, and aims to produce 500m cubic feet of gas per day, drilling six wells and constructing a sea platform weighing approximately 2,400 tonnes at a depth of 23 metres below sea level.

In addition, a marine line will be constructed to transport production to shore and completed in a terrestrial 35-km line to connect to Abu Madi plant at a cost of $380m.

Enppi is engaged in the detailed design of the production facilities, Petrojet in the manufacturing of the marine platform, as well as the construction of the land line, and Petroleum Marine Services in the installations of the marine platform and construction works by sea.
