Cairo Opera House announced a new partnership with E7gezly, the digital ticketing provider in Egypt and an A15 portfolio company, to simplify ticket purchases and event entrance experience for its customers. E7gezly will be working alongside Fawry, which will be providing the payment processing component of the service.

The partnership with E7gezly will introduce online ticketing across all Cairo Opera House venues and events, allowing users to purchase tickets across all devices (PC & mobile) and receive secured digital tickets via their email and smartphones.

E7gezly will also provide its latest check-in technology at the Cairo Opera House to allow visitors to easily scan digital tickets. Founded in 2012, E7gezly has quickly become a dominant player in the online booking service space and the provider of choice for various events and venues. E7gezly has partnerships with most of the cultural venues in Egypt, like Culture Wheel, Darb 1718, El Genina Theatre, Room Art Space & Diva Theatre, and it also provides ticketing platforms for various business lines, like events, venues, cinemas, and transportation.

“We are pleased that we are facilitating ticket booking and delivery for Cairo Opera House events, as it is a step that brings us closer to realising our vision of transforming into a major online hub for events and entertainment by providing access to a variety of events for customers looking for a lot more than just a booking service. More importantly, it is a fantastic opportunity to work with such a national icon in Egypt’s cultural landscape,” said Fady Younan, CEO of E7gezly.

He noted that working with the Cairo Opera House and Inas Abdel Dayem, the head of Cairo Opera House, is an opportunity to contribute to the work of one of the largest venues in Egypt and to be part of facilitating access to public venues, which goes along with their aspirations of becoming the biggest online hub for events and entertainment, providing their consumers a multitude of events from different categories in Egypt and across the region.

Home to many of Egypt’s finest musicians, Cairo Opera House is the main performing arts venue in the Egyptian capital. Inas Abdel Dayem, the head of Cairo Opera House, said that one of her dreams was to enable digital ticketing and to provide a new simplified visitor experience.

“I am very glad and optimistic with the collaboration with E7gezly and Fawry, and I am looking forward to what we will all achieve during the Arab Music Festival,” said Fadi Antaki, CEO of A15.

Antaki added, “We are very excited for the opportunity to be able to collaborate with the Cairo Opera House and to work with Inas to help her deliver her vision. We are confident that E7gezly will provide a world-class service to Cairo Opera House visitors and that E7gezly will soon become a leading player in the ticketing industry.”

The new service launched on Sunday 29 October with bookings open for the 26th annual Arab Music Festival, which starts on 1 November and extends to 15 November.
