This month, Minister of Finance Dr Ahmed Galal and Minister of Tourism Hisham Zazou will provide insight into their plans to kick start Egypt’s financial and tourism sectors at the 2013 Euromoney Conference, of which Daily News Egypt will be the main English media sponsor.

The event will enjoy the participation of high-profile executives from across the world, including Country Manager of Air France KLM Cees Ursem, Chairman and Managing Director of Siemens SAE Mohamed El-Mahdi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Egypt Suresh Narayanan and or Chairman and Managing Director of TAQA Arabia Gas Group Rob Bennett.

“Despite the road being long, there does appear to be a shared vision of where both the government and direct foreign investors want to be – and that is moving forward,” said Richard Banks, Regional Director of the Euromoney Conference. “The emphasis from both policymakers and business heads will be on the nuts and bolts of getting finance and industry moving again as well as the incremental changes that are possible in the current climate.”

Other confirmed speakers include: Co-Founder and Managing Director of Citadel Capital Hisham El-Khazindar, Ambassador of the European Union to Egypt James Moran, Managing Director of Kroll Tom Everett-Heath and Senior Regional Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean regions Hanan Morsy.

The conference is supported by lead sponsors Commercial International Bank, Citadel Capital, National Bank of Egypt; co-sponsors the Bank of Alexandria, Emaar; El Taamir Mortgage Company – Al Oula; Six of October Development and Investment Company (SODIC); internet sponsor Google; and supporting organisation the Arab International Bank (AIB).
