The forum is expected to be held in a hybrid format from 21 to 22 June under the title ‘Africa in an era of successive risks and climate vulnerability: Pathways for a peaceful, resilient, and sustainable continent.’
The CCCPA director said that the Aswan Forum is a unique platform that reflects Egypt’s keenness to support African cooperation and the continent’s relations with development partners in order to strengthen the relationship between peace, security, and sustainable development.
Third Edition of the Aswan Forum will be held under the theme, “Africa in an Era of Cascading Risks and Climate Vulnerability: Pathways for a Peaceful, Resilient and Sustainable Continent.”
The event included a workshop on addressing terrorism from an African perspective, and a workshop on forced displacement and sustainable peace in Africa, to discuss ways to address the challenges facing the African continent in these areas and consider innovative long-term measures and solutions that can contribute to addressing them.
In this context, Egypt is convening the second edition of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, which will be held virtually from 1-5 March 2021 under the motto “Shaping Africa’s New Normal: Recovering Stronger, Rebuilding Better”.
