Egypt is set to host the 2026 Arab Junior and Youth Golf Championship, bringing together more than 120 male and female players from 13 Arab countries at Madinaty Golf Club and Mirage City Golf Club.

The championship will officially open on Wednesday, 7 October, with competitions taking place from 8 to 10 October across several junior and youth age categories.

Players representing Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Palestine, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Tunisia, Libya, Qatar, Iraq, Morocco, and host nation Egypt will participate in this year’s tournament.

The championship will feature competitions for boys and girls in the Under-13 and Under-16 categories, alongside the Under-18 boys’ competition and Under-21 events for young men and women.

Omar Hesham Talaat, President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, said Egypt’s hosting of the Arab Golf Championship for the second consecutive year reflects the country’s ability to organise and host major sporting events.

He said the tournament forms part of efforts to strengthen Egypt’s position on the international golf map and attract more high-spending sports tourism, supporting foreign currency inflows into the national economy.

Talaat added that hosting the 2026 Arab Junior and Youth Golf Championship builds on the productive cooperation between the Egyptian Golf Federation and the Arab Golf Federation.

He said the tournament also follows the success of Egypt’s hosting of the 2025 edition, which achieved strong organisational and technical results and encouraged continued cooperation to further develop the championship in line with the ambitions of Arab golf federations and the region’s emerging generation of players.

According to Talaat, the 2026 championship is witnessing an unprecedented level of participation, reflecting the significant development of golf across the Arab world.

He noted that bringing together more than 120 young golfers provides players with valuable competitive experience while creating opportunities to identify emerging talent, develop their technical abilities, and prepare them for participation in international tournaments.

The championship comes amid growing efforts by the Egyptian Golf Federation to expand Egypt’s presence on the regional and international golf calendar through hosting major tournaments and promoting the country as a destination for golf and sports tourism.
