GAFI forms task force to monitor UAE investments, address challenges

Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), met with Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the UAE Investors Council Abroad, in the presence of Manal Abdel Tawab, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office in the UAE.

The meeting reviewed developments in Egypt’s investment climate, as well as the incentives and facilities offered by the state, which are creating multiple opportunities for UAE companies to invest and expand in the Egyptian market.

The meeting comes in line with the directives of Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, to strengthen communication with investors and improve the investor experience.

During the meeting, Awad affirmed GAFI’s commitment to building a sustainable institutional partnership with the UAE Investors Council Abroad, supporting existing UAE investments and encouraging new investments.

He noted that the two sides are discussing the formation of a joint task force to monitor investments, exchange information on new investment opportunities, and swiftly address and resolve any challenges facing UAE companies.

For his part, Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination with GAFI in a manner that supports UAE investors and provides them with more opportunities to expand in the Egyptian market. He also underscored the importance of maintaining institutional communication between the two sides.
