Minister of State for Military Production Salah Gomaa held talks with Mohamed El‑Sewedy, President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), to explore avenues for strengthening co-operation aimed at advancing local industry and localising manufacturing technologies.
The meeting comes in line with presidential directives to deepen domestic manufacturing, enhance national production capabilities, increase reliance on local products, reduce imports, and accelerate the localisation of advanced industrial technologies.
Gomaa underscored the importance of sustained and effective engagement with the FEI, given its central role in shaping industrial activity across major Egyptian companies and facilitating co-operation between state-owned enterprises and the private sector. He highlighted the need to maximise the production and human capacities of companies affiliated with the National Organisation for Military Production, in line with directives to raise local manufacturing ratios and expand partnerships with private firms.
He added that these efforts are aligned with the implementation of the National Industrial Strategy 2024-2030, which aims to deliver a qualitative transformation in Egypt’s industrial sector, support economic growth, and enhance the global competitiveness of Egyptian products.

For his part, El-Sewedy emphasised the importance of increasing local content through industrial partnerships that can unlock new export opportunities, generate foreign currency inflows, and add value across supply chains. He noted that these efforts support broader national objectives to raise the industrial sector’s contribution to GDP by 2030, alongside expanding factory capacity, improving quality standards, and accelerating the transition towards green industries.
Discussions also covered co-operation with El Sewedy Group companies, the development of feeder industries, and mechanisms for supporting these sectors through the FEI. Participants reviewed ways to address existing challenges to ensure efficient implementation, with a focus on upgrading Military Production companies and attracting further investment.
The meeting was attended by Tarek Bakheet, Deputy Chairperson and Managing Director of the National Organisation for Military Production, Mohamed Shereen, Head of the Minister’s Office, along with a number of ministry and authority officials.
