Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly convened a meeting on Sunday to review the ongoing development of infrastructure and security systems at airports across Egypt. The meeting focused on the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s efforts to upgrade airport facilities, improve security measures, and streamline operations, all aimed at elevating Egypt’s airport standards to meet international expectations.
Madbouly emphasized that the government fully supports these development plans, as they are key to enhancing the overall travel experience, improving efficiency, and strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional air travel hub.
During the meeting, Sameh Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, outlined the ministry’s comprehensive strategy to modernize Egypt’s airports. This includes upgrading infrastructure, adopting the latest operational standards, and boosting airport capacity to accommodate growing tourist traffic. Hefny also emphasized that the upgrades aim to make Egyptian airports more competitive in the regional and global aviation markets.
In addition to infrastructure improvements, Hefny highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance security systems at airports. This includes the installation of state-of-the-art security technologies, accredited internationally, designed to improve both safety and operational efficiency. Strengthening civil protection measures also remains a top priority to ensure the security of passengers and airport staff.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Minister Sameh Hefny, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Mahmoud Suleiman, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Amani Metwally, and Director of the General Administration of Civil Protection Hazem Farouk. Also present were key airport leaders such as Ayman Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Wael El-Nashar, Chairperson of the Egyptian Airports Company, and Magdy Ishak, Chairman of Cairo Airport Company, along with representatives from other concerned entities.
