Two Russian athletes have completed the world’s first ultramarathon at the North Pole, covering 80 kilometres on the deck of a nuclear icebreaker in a race that lasted more than nine hours, TV BRICS reported.
The athletes, Vladimir Voloshin and Radmir Bikmetov, completed the race on the deck of the nuclear icebreaker “50 Years of Victory.”
The report noted that the athletes contended with challenging conditions during the race, including the constant polar sun, strong winds, and freezing temperatures.
