The Housing and Development Bank (HDB) has announced the launch of the pilot phase of its new digital platform designed to facilitate the booking of housing projects and land offered by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA).
This initiative aligns with the bank’s ongoing strategic plan to modernise housing services, in keeping with its broader digital transformation goals and its dedication to improving the customer experience in the housing sector.
The launch further underscores the bank’s pivotal role as a strategic partner to NUCA since its establishment, and highlights its fruitful, long-standing cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities. It also builds on the bank’s more than 45 years of experience serving customers in this critical sector.
The platform reflects HDB’s commitment to providing integrated housing services that meet customer expectations and support national urban expansion strategies. It offers a streamlined, secure digital experience that allows customers to electronically reserve NUCA project land and housing units, ensuring the highest standards of transparency, fairness, and accuracy in presenting project information.
To support this initiative, the bank has published a series of instructional videos on its official channels to guide users through the process of data entry and completing reservations. This step aims to simplify procedures and raise awareness of the platform’s features and functionality.
The new platform incorporates advanced features to enhance user experience and improve service efficiency. Recent upgrades have increased its capacity to manage high volumes of traffic during booking periods, ensuring continuous access without slowdowns.
Moreover, the platform includes sophisticated digital systems designed to reinforce equal opportunity by applying a “first come, first served” policy. Applicants can transparently track their booking and allocation status. Additional updates include modern digital tools to securely manage and document applicants’ preferences, thereby strengthening data protection and safeguarding the platform against cyberattacks. The system operates automatically without human intervention, further enhancing transparency and impartiality.
Notably, the HDB platform is the first dedicated digital real estate platform for booking NUCA housing units and land. Since its launch to the public in 2017, it has facilitated online reservations and allocations for over 80 projects and more than 500,000 housing units, benefiting thousands of citizens across Egypt’s governorates.
Commenting on the launch, Hassan Ghanem, CEO and Managing Director of the Housing and Development Bank, expressed his pride in the bank’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its digital platform. He described it as a key milestone reflecting the bank’s steadfast commitment as a strategic partner to NUCA. Over the past 45 years, the bank has consistently served millions of clients with flexibility and innovation, reinforcing customer trust and supporting the bank’s vision to achieve sustainable development goals.
Ghanem emphasised that the bank’s management remains deeply committed to making the digital customer journey more efficient, flexible, and user-friendly, while ensuring the highest levels of security, transparency, and impartiality — in line with the state’s broader push to digitise Egypt’s real estate sector.
