Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met with Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anani to discuss the latest arrangements for the country’s participation in the Dubai Expo 2020.

The event, which had originally been scheduled for last year, is scheduled to be held from October 2021 and will last for six months.

Gamea said that Egypt will be represented at the exhibition as a popular investment destination in the region, due to its huge national projects in infrastructure. It will also reflect the measures taken to attract foreign investments, and efforts regarding smart cities and industrial zones, in addition to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).

The Egyptian pavilion will be located in the opportunities area, which is considered the most important area of the Dubai Expo. Its location next to the UAE’s pavilion reflects Egypt’s importance, especially due to its distinguished experiences, its ancient civilization, and the uniqueness of the Egyptian personality throughout history.

Gamea noted that the Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition will feature 106 activities, including workshops and discussion meetings, business meetings and cultural salons, in addition to nine specialised exhibitions.

These will be in the fields of antiquities, education, real estate investment, and Egypt’s Heritage. Also featured are recreational and cultural events to attract the largest possible number of audience and visitors to the exhibition.

El-Anani stressed his ministry’s keenness to carefully select the pictures, backgrounds, and murals displayed in the Egyptian pavilion, to reflect the efforts of the ancient Egyptians in the fields of building, construction, industry, and crafts.

The pavilion aims to highlight the colours and designs inside the Egyptian pavilion. He said that the Egyptian identity combines the nobility of the past, the development of the present, and the prospect of the future.

El-Anani indicated that an exhibition of archaeological replicas will be organised throughout the duration of the exhibition.
