CAIRO: Zamalek football director Ahmed Refaat protested against Junior Agogo s suspension, following his inappropriate gesture during the Egyptian League game against Petrojet.

The 29-year-old was handed a three-match suspension and a fine of LE 20,000 by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) on Tuesday.

Refaat reiterated that the referee didn t mention Agogo s misconduct in the post-match report, insisting that the EFA had no right to punish the Ghanaian striker.

If EFA had resorted to the match s video to verify the incident, they should have called up one of Zamalek representatives to watch it with the Association s officials, he told FilGoal.com.

Beforehand, the football director stated he was not expecting the EFA to impose any sanctions on the well-built forward.

With the three-match ban, Agogo is set miss the Cairo Derby between Zamalek and Ahly next Saturday.

Refaat also said that Zamalek are standing firm on their request to postpone the pivotal encounter against their arch-rivals Ahly.

The Whites don t want to clash with the Red Devils until the latter play all of their four rescheduled games.

Zamalek are yet to submit an official request regarding the postponement of the derby.
