CAIRO: Egypt midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou sustained a minor ankle injury that will keep him out of action for a week, which means he will be available for the Pharaohs crucial World Cup qualifier against Algeria.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off in Ahli Dubai s 1-1 draw with Sharjah in the UAE League on Saturday after falling down all of a sudden with no challengers in close proximity only after 17 minutes.

Abd-Rabou received brief treatment near the byline, and was replaced on 21 minutes.

Later on, his brother Tarek Abd-Rabou allayed fears over his injury, saying he will only be sidelined for few days.

Hosni picked up a negligible ankle injury, Tarek told FilGoal.com. He felt pain when he started to run and thus was taken off.

Abd-Rabou was named in Egypt s squad for their crucial World Cup qualifier against Algeria on November 14th, and is considered to be integral part of the team.

He was keen to step off the pitch to make sure his injury doesn’t get aggravated, Tarek added.

He s going to rest for a week to overcome his injury, and will definitely catch the qualifier against Algeria.
