Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China – The “Seminar on Capacity Enhancement in Investment Attraction for Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Countries” concluded its activities last week with an official closing ceremony held in Fujian Province, marking the end of a three-week programme that brought together participants from Egypt, Guyana, Namibia, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, and South Africa.
The seminar, hosted by the International Economic Cooperation Center of Fujian Province, aimed to strengthen investment cooperation, policy understanding, and economic exchange between China and participating BRI countries. Over the course of the programme, delegates attended lectures, workshops, and field visits to major industrial and educational institutions, including Fujian Boyang Shipbuilding Industry Co. Ltd and Fujian University of Technology, to observe China’s approaches to industrial development, technological innovation, and business environment reform.
During the closing ceremony, certificates of completion and commemorative plaques were presented to participants in recognition of their active engagement and contributions throughout the seminar.
The event was attended by senior officials from the International Economic Cooperation Center and local government representatives, who expressed appreciation for the participants’ enthusiasm and the mutual learning achieved during the programme.
Mr. Mustafa Salah, head of the Egyptian delegation, delivered a speech on behalf of all international participants. In his remarks, he praised the seminar organisers for their professionalism and hospitality, and extended special appreciation to the International Economic Cooperation Center of Fujian Province for designing a comprehensive and insightful programme.
He noted that the seminar provided a valuable platform for understanding China’s investment promotion strategies and for identifying new avenues of collaboration under the Belt and Road framework. “This experience has offered us first-hand insight into how policy, industry, and education can be aligned to drive sustainable development,” Salah said, adding that the knowledge gained would contribute to strengthening cooperation between Egypt and China in areas such as trade, investment, and industrial capacity.
Organisers underlined that the seminar’s success reflected the spirit of shared learning and mutual benefit that defines the Belt and Road Initiative. They reiterated China’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with partner countries through capacity-building programmes, experience exchange, and people-to-people connections.
As the seminar came to a close, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage directly with Chinese institutions and enterprises, noting that the combination of academic training and field exposure provided a well-rounded understanding of China’s development experience.
The event concluded with a group photo and a cultural exchange session, symbolising the deepening friendship and cooperation among participating BRI countries.
