Rowad Modern Engineering has announced the signing of a cooperation protocol with UK Export Finance (UKEF) at the British Embassy in Cairo.
The agreement is designed to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two parties, supporting innovation, quality, and long-term impact in development projects. It also paves the way for British exporters to contribute to projects across Africa and the Middle East, while building stronger trade ties between Egypt and the UK and creating access to innovative financing solutions to drive economic growth.
Mohamed Mahlab, CEO of Rowad Modern Engineering, described the protocol as a significant strategic milestone that underscores the company’s leadership in executing large-scale, complex projects locally and regionally. He added that the collaboration reflects Rowad’s commitment to expanding international partnerships and supporting broader economic and social development efforts.
“This agreement opens new financing opportunities for major infrastructure and development projects in the Middle East and Africa, reinforcing Rowad’s position as an internationally focused Egyptian company and a trusted partner in sustainable development,” Mahlab said.
Mohamed Saad, Country Head of UKEF, commented: “The protocol demonstrates UKEF’s commitment to supporting economic growth through flexible and innovative financing solutions. The agreement includes information sharing, technical and advisory support, and consultations tailored to each party’s needs.”
The British Embassy played a key role in facilitating the protocol by fostering communication between the two sides and providing a supportive diplomatic environment for developing effective economic partnerships. It also continues to promote investment exchange between Egypt and the UK across various sectors, including strategic areas such as infrastructure, green energy, and digital transformation.
UKEF’s support aligns with its environmental, social, and human rights policies, as well as OECD recommendations and guidelines, ensuring projects meet high sustainability standards.
The cooperation protocol strengthens economic ties between Egypt and the UK, reflecting both parties’ commitment to innovative financing solutions that advance sustainable development and international trade — and further positioning Egypt as a regional hub for high-value, large-scale projects.
