Fodder supplies worth $67m released from ports within week: Agriculture Minister

Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Elsayed Elkosayer affirmed that the release of fodder requirements is continuing in coordination with the Central Bank, pointing out that during the period from 24 February to 2 March 2, 2023, 137,000 tonnes of corn and soybeans, worth about $67m, were released.

He explained that the release included 96,000 tonnes of corn at a value of $34.4m and about 41,000 tonnes of soybeans at a value of $30.4m, along with feed additives worth $2.2m.

He indicated that the total that was released during the period from 16 October 2022 to 2 March 2023 amounts to about 2.883 million tonnes at a value of $1.434bn, of which 2.044 million tonnes of corn, 839,00 tonnes of soybeans and feed additives.
