SCZone, Egypt-TEDA discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation

Chairperson of Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Walid Gamal El Din met Leo Emin, head of the TEDA – Egypt, and his accompanying delegation to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two sides, follow up developments of the companies operating within the SCZone.

Gamal El Din expressed his appreciation and cooperation with the Chinese side. The projects of the Chinese Industrial Zone (Egypt-TEDA) within the SCZone are evidence of the success of this cooperation, and the ability of the two sides to enhance it to achieve more successes, especially in projects of common interest. 

Gamal El Din highlighted the authority’s adoption of the principle of integrated work team in its dealings with its success partners namely developers and business owners, its keenness on joint success and its readiness to cooperate in providing promotional efforts, whether internally or externally, for projects in the Chinese region

He further confirmed the authority’s readiness to assist the TEDA region in preparing for the Chinese investment conference, which is to be held soon, in coordination with the Chinese embassy.

 The SCZone’s chairperson noted that he is looking forward to conducting a promotional tour inside China, inviting the Egypt- TEDA to accompany him on that tour.

For his part, Leo Emin thanked the SCZone for its support of the Chinese businesses in the region, and highlighted the permanent support of the Chinese government for efforts to attract investment to the Egypt-TEDA.

Emin noted that there are about 120 Chinese industrial zones outside China and Egypt-TEDA occupies the first place among them.

He believed that the reason for this distinction is the choice of Egypt as a location for their investments due to the close relations between Egypt and China to attract 7 new projects in the coming period, with investments estimated at about $5bn, and will present them to the Authority’s management for cooperation in order to complete them.
