The Egyptian House of Representatives, in cooperation with Inter-Parliamentary Union, organizes the eighth Forum of Young Parliamentarians in Sharm El-Sheikh from 15 to 16 June 2022

The annual forum aims to promote youth participation in politics and create a platform for them to present their opinions on international challenges and issues and suggest solutions.

Climate change is scheduled as the central pillar of the conference, which the Egyptian Parliament was keen to include as a global issue and to discuss within the framework of the international parliamentary dimension under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, with the participation of Hanafi Jabali, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and high-level regional and international personalities.

Young parliamentarians will arrive from 90 countries, which is believed to be an achievement for Sahar Al-Bazzar, a member of the Egyptian House of Representatives, for the Young Parliamentarians Forum of the Inter-Parliamentary Union as the first female Egyptian parliamentarian to hold this international position, in an intellectual attempt to rally all international efforts at all organizational and legislative levels toward the need to find solutions to the climate change issues as the most distinguished global challenge.

Egypt’s attraction to climate change adaptation is also embodied in its hosting of COP 27 on 7 -18 November.
