Metra Computers — the agent of the American Cisco Systems in Egypt — held its sixth annual forum in Istanbul, Turkey, which was attended by more than 90 people from 35 Egyptian companies selling Cisco products.
The conference stems from the company’s keenness to enhance cooperation between Cisco and Metra Group — the first provider of information technology services, solutions, and visions in the region since its establishment in 1982. It quickly became the fastest growing distributor in the region in terms of added value for information technology with more than 30 vendors, 500 regional distributors, and 6,500 partners and suppliers.
During the event, the latest set of technologies and Cisco products that help communicate with employees, secure institutions, automate processes to accelerate digital movement and provide a better experience were reviewed.
Mohamed Abu Gebba — Cisco Department Manager at Metra — said that Metra always works to keep pace with the latest technical solutions that characterise Cisco globally in all economic sectors.
Furthermore, he emphasised the efforts being exerted to expand Cisco in Egypt and provide greater opportunities for communications technology to enter Egypt thanks to the strategic partnership between Cisco and Metra, highlighting the leading role Metra played to expand the spread of Cisco solutions in Egypt. Abu Gebba also announced that a new slate of Cisco products in the field of cloud computing and cybersecurity will be introduced in Egypt soon.
Cisco is a world pioneer in the field of network equipment and software in terms of transaction volume and market value.
Metra is the largest agent for information and communications technology companies in Egypt, the Middle East, and North Africa. It operates in more than 12 countries, has about 1,000 employees, and owns 65% of the ICT market in the countries in which it operates.
