Egyptian export councils will hold Sunday a meeting via Zoom with the participation of the Egyptian Commercial Service in Jeddah and the Saudi company Daman to discuss mechanisms for implementing its proposal to establish trading centres for Egyptian goods in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah.

This is in preparation for an expansion in the rest of Saudi Arabia’s cities to exploit the Egyptian products’ popularity in the Saudi market, and thus Daman will be an exclusive agent for Egyptian companies that will display their products in the mall in accordance with Saudi law.

A meeting was held in the middle of the month in which the Saudi company was presented to the representatives of the councils providing a set of services represented in securing a suitable site that includes Egyptian companies under one roof in a distinguished place in Jeddah as well as securing storage warehouses, securing visas for Egyptian companies wishing to do so, securing goods clearance companies, securing a certificate of specifications and standards for entering goods in coordination with the Egyptian exporter, and securing logistic services (Transport, etc.) and the transactions related to the Ministries of Commerce and Investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Khaled Abu Al-Makarem, the Head of the Chemical Industries Export Council, said that a meeting was requested with Daman Limited to discuss the proposed offer in detail and to raise the questions raised by the Egyptian companies, especially that the products are different and therefore the method of their presentation must be different.

He said that it is required to test the pulse of the market first by identifying the target sectors and the products required in the Saudi market to come to the stage of networking business between the Egyptian exporter and the Saudi importer, which gives an opportunity for Egyptian companies to get acquainted closely with what opportunities are available in the Saudi market.
