Egypt face Qatar in friendly before African Men’s Handball Championship in Morocco

The Egyptian national handball team will play against Qatar in Doha on Thursday, in their second friendly match in a row. In their first friendly, Egypt beat Qatar 26-23 on Wednesday.

Both teams are preparing for their respective continental competitions. Egypt will participate in the 2022 African Men’s Handball Championship in Morocco, which was scheduled for 13-23 January 2022 but was recently postponed to an undisclosed date. On the other hand, Qatar will participate in the Asian Men’s Handball Championship in Saudi Arabia, scheduled 18-31 January.

The Pharaohs will return to Cairo on Friday evening, before they will fly on 6 January to France to participate in the friendly tournament Golden League. Egypt will play against France on 7 January and against Denmark on 9 January.

Egypt’s Spanish coach Roberto Garcia Barrondo chose 20 players in the squad to represent the Pharaohs in the African championship.
