Dalal Abdel Aziz dies at 61 from COVID-19 complications

Renowned Egyptian actress Dalal Abdel Aziz passed away, on Saturday, at 61 from Coronavirus (COVID-19) complications, according to her son-in-law TV anchor Ramy Radwan. 

Abdel Aziz was transferred to hospital, on 30 April, after suffering severe COVID-19 symptoms. Her husband, Egyptian comedy star Samir Ghanem, was also receiving treatment from COVID-19 infection in the hospital, until he died from kidney failure on 20 May. The family reportedly did not inform Abdel Aziz of her husband’s death.

Abdel Aziz was born in Sharqeya governorate in 1960, and graduated from Faculty of Agriculture at Zagazig University.She had a long fruitful career in cinema, television, and theatre that spanned over 30 years.

Her most famous roles were in films: “Sorry for the Disturbance” and “Ya Rab Walad”, as well as TV series “People in Kafr Askar”. She starred in successful plays, including “FarisBany Khaiban” and “Akhouya Hayiss wa Ana Layiss”, among others.
