Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received a phone call, on Thursday, from his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry kuliba, in which they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

The ministers expressed their mutual satisfaction with the level of coordination between Egypt and Ukraine, and their aspiration to hold the next round of bilateral consultations during this year.

They also stressed the importance of exploring ways to benefit mutually from the experiences of both countries in countering the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and mitigating its social and economic repercussions.

Ahmed Hafez, spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Shoukry expressed Egypt’s interest in continuing to deepen and develop cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, trade, and agricultural fields, technology transfer, and promotion of Ukrainian investments in Egypt.

Shoukry also praised the continued flow of Ukrainian tourism to Egypt, which has become the first in 2020, amid the stringent precautionary measures applied by the ministries of health and tourism, after Ukraine’s decision to resume charter flights to both South Sinai and the Red Sea.
