Madbouly’s remarks came during his meeting with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, on Tuesday, during which the bank praised Egypt’s Green Recovery strategy, and welcomed joint cooperation to discover opportunities in this field in Egypt and Africa.

Renaud-Basso highlighted Egypt’s importance for the EBRD, evident in the bank’s portfolio of €1bn in the country.

The meeting was also attended by: EBRD Vice-President Alain Pilloux; Khaled Hamza, deputy head of the EBRD in Egypt; other representatives of the bank in the southern and eastern Mediterranean region; and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat.

During the meeting, Madbouly applauded the bank’s continuous support to the private sector, and added that Egypt’s green recovery strategy aims to implement environmentally compatible projects, in order to achieve sustainable development.
