President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, generals, state officials, and soldiers congregated at Cairo’s El-Mosheer Tantawy Mosque to bid farewell to the Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed El-Assar. El-Assar died on Monday at the age of 74. He graduated from the Military Technical College in 1967. El-Assar served as the military production minister since 2015. He was also a member of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces during the 2011 Revolution. In June, President Al-Sisi promoted El-Assar to the honorary rank of lieutenant-general, and bestowed upon him the Nile sash.
