The Software Engineering Competence Center, affiliated to the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), has offered an online training entitled Digital Transformation for Government Leaders.

The intensive course, which has taken place for the first time, aims to improve the performance of government agencies, and raise the quality and efficiency of public services. These improvements will take place by developing the work environment, and providing the right technologies to support decision-making. Also of importance is finding technological solutions to social issues.

A total of 26 governmental executive leaders, including from the Ministries of Civil Aviation, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, Health, Electricity and Renewable Energy and Agriculture, among others, participated in the session’s activities. Officials from governorates including Alexandria, Sharqeya, Qaliubiya and Qena, also took part in the session.

The course comes as part of the authority’s encouragement to work from home whilst also providing its programmes and services to companies via the Internet. This is set to occur by using the latest applications and digital media to reduce gatherings and ensure the safety of workers and citizens. It is also to ensure that government agencies can remain functional and maintain business continuity during the ongoing crisis.
