Misr for Sound & Light, a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels of the Ministry of Public Enterprises, has started implementing the Tahrir Square lighting project, as part of its development plan, in collaboration with a number of government agencies.

This comes in the framework of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s plan to develop Khedive Cairo, and the Prime Minister’s instructions to develop a vision for the development and revitalisation of Tahrir Square, Egypt’s most famous square, to become the most magnificent shrine within compared to other archaeological and tourist sites.

The company, according to a mandate from the Council of Ministers, started working on the first stage of the field lighting project by supplying and installing external lighting units for the Egyptian Museum and its garden, as well as lighting units for the square and obelisk.

The second stage will include the supply and installation of aesthetic lighting units for building facades overlooking Tahrir Square. The lighting project will be funded by the New Urban Communities Authority.
