Egypt aims to enhance African countries’ business climate in light of its presidency of the African Union (AU), Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr, said during her meeting with Speaker of the Togolese National Assembly, Yawa Tsegan, on Sunday.

Nasr asserted Egypt’s keenness on boosting the economic and investment relations with Togo, noting that the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed to pay special attention to women empowerment in Egypt as well as Africa.

“We also aim at achieving the economic integration with Africa in cooperation with the international partners to improve Africa’s infrastructure,” Nasr said.

The minister invited Tsegan to participate in “Invest in Africa 2019” conference, that is set to be organised at the New Administrative Capital from 22 to 23 November, under the patronage of President Al-Sisi.

Several heads of state, prime ministers of African countries, more than 2,000 businesspersons, and representatives of development partners are expected to attend the conference. The conference will tackle boosting investment in Africa, Nasr asserted, noting that the conference will also include sessions for women empowerment and supporting entrepreneurs.

For her part, Tsegan assured her country’s keenness on promoting trade and investment relations with Egypt which will positively impact both countries’ economies, noting that Egypt’s experience in improving business climate is inspiring other African countries.
