20.4% increase in Egyptian expatriates’ remittances in September

The total of Egyptian expatriates’ remittances in September increased by $298m, an increase of 20.4% to register at $1.8bn compared to $1.5bn in September 2017, according to Central Bank of Egypt on Sunday.

The CBE said that this increase participated to raise the total expatriates’ remittances in first quarter of current fiscal year FY 2018/19 with an increase

Egyptian expatriates’ remittances recorded $7bn from April to June compared with $6bn during the same period of FY 2017.

Meanwhile, the total remittances from expatriate Egyptians witnessed a 41.2% increase in April 2018, reaching about $2.3bn, compared to $1.7bn in April 2017.
