The Arab Gulf Union for Training and Development recently organised a conference entitled “Egypt Counters Terrorism” at Ain Shams University, in solidarity with the victims of the terror attack on the Rawda mosque near Al-Arish, last month.

The attendees denounced the terror incident, calling on all countries, through their embassies in Egypt, to organise a demonstration in Egypt to denounce the incident. They also called for changing the media’s rhetoric to support the positions of the state.

During the conference, former chief of the High State Security Court Amr Abdul Raziq said that escalations from those terror groups should be faced with force and initial measures should be taken against terror plots. He also called on the Egyptian people to stand by their political leadership.

Deputy Minister of Culture Emad Saeed stressed the role of culture in facing extremism and that the fight against terrorism could require many sacrifices in order to defeat terror plots.

Professor of Strategic Studies and National Security at Nasser Military Academy Talaat Moussa explained that terror attacks have become more advanced since 2011 as terror groups develop themselves by changing their tactics and targets.
